Fitcamp - Tips

Whether you're joining a Fitcamp class or still thinking about it, here are some tips to help ensure your success in reaching your fitness goals:

If possible, help recruit!
Encouraging your family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors to join you at Fitcamp has its benefits:
  • Training with others in a group setting provides a big boost in helping you reach your fitness goals through the power of added motivation and accountability.
  • If your class is a tentatively forming one, the sooner we have sufficient numbers of participants, the sooner we can start! (Ideal class size is 10 participants, but I'm typically okay with starting a class with as few as 3-4 participants with the idea that we will continually add more)
  • Recruiting has financial perks, too - see the Current Promotions page!

Helpful ideas before starting your first Fitcamp class
  • Fitcamp is fun and you'll have a blast as you obtain those long-awaited results, but it'll be much more enjoyable if you're not just getting up off the couch before your first training session! Get going on something while you wait - walking, swimming, surfing, biking, yard work, jogging...anything is better than nothing.
  • STRETCH - your body will be pushed to the limit at Fitcamp in ways you're probably not accustomed to.  Life will be much better for you during, after, and between training sessions if you have at least some degree of flexibility. There are lots of resources online if you need help with stretches. Try a Google search for 'stretching exercises' or contact Superhuman for some ideas.
  • Make sure you've got a favorite water bottle and a decent-sized towel or exercise mat ready to bring with you to your Fitcamp sessions.
  • Start thinking about changes you might need to make in your nutritional habits. Fitcamp provides the best results if you're fueling your body properly. Our bodies simply do not feel great when we're working out hard but are eating things we shouldn't. Unless your aim is to become an elite athlete, there's no magic secret to eating right for performance and results. HONEST AWARENESS of your habits and tendencies is an excellent first step - monitoring total caloric intake, making wise food choices (and exercising self-control over unwise ones!), reading food labels, avoiding rationalizing of choices and quantities, and keeping a record of foods eaten/serving sizes are all good starting points that most of us can immediately benefit greatly from.
  • Lastly...be excited and optimistic!  You are walking into a situation in which you'll be working with a qualified, experienced, and personable trainer who is eager to work with you and is dedicated to doing all he can to help pave the way for you to reaching all of your goals and then some.  A Superhuman you is in your future at Fitcamp!
