Fitness Thoughts

Knowledge, experiences, rants...
To get you inspired, motivated, or hopefully at least thinking!

One of my favorite quotes of all time - so powerful and useful! "To reach a goal you have never before attained, you must do things you have never done."

This came to mind today during a particularly challenging exercise we were doing at one of my Fitcamp sessions, when I told the participants in the class that when it's hard (like it was at that moment) is when you have the chance to make real fitness progress. Meaningful progress doesn't really come when it's easy and completely doable! You take big leaps forward and get better - whatever you targeted 'better' might be - when it's hard and when you think you can't, but you dig deep into your resolve and choose to do it anyway.

I also think that the above quote most definitely applies in pretty much all situations in life, not just fitness, in which we are earnestly striving to reach higher in achieving goals. So keeping this thought in mind, remember two things - push through challenging barriers, no matter how hard it seems, and if you feel like you're stuck or not reaching goals like you think you should, ask yourself (and be honest about the answers!) if you're doing the same old thing or if it's time to do more in order to get more!
